Description
Overview
ISO 7380 defines a hexagon socket button head screw with a low rounded head. The button head provides a neat appearance and a broad bearing surface, while the internal hex drive allows installation where external spanner clearance is not available.
This selected size is specified with diameter M10, length 25 mm, thread M10, pitch 1.5 mm.
Sold in multiples of '100 pieces. 1 Box = '100 pieces.
Material, Grade & Strength
Grade 10.9 is a high strength alloy steel property class with a nominal ultimate tensile strength of about 1000 MPa and yield strength of about 900 MPa. It is selected where higher clamp load is needed than Grade 8.8.
Finish & Corrosion Protection
Plain finish fasteners have no protective plated coating and are best used indoors, in oiled assemblies, in painted structures or where corrosion exposure is controlled.
Typical Uses
ISO 7380 button head screws are used on visible assemblies, equipment covers, guards, frames, furniture, panels and light machinery where a low-profile rounded head is preferred.
Technical Tips
- Use the correct hex key or socket bit to avoid rounding the drive.
- Button heads are lower than socket cap screws, so check suitability for high-load joints.
- Use washers where surface protection or load spreading is needed.
- Select stainless or coated finishes for exposed environments.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should a button head be used? Use it where appearance, low profile and internal hex drive access are more important than the higher head strength of a socket cap screw.
