Description

Overview

ISO 7380 defines a hexagon socket button head screw with a low rounded head. The button head provides a neat appearance and a broad bearing surface, while the internal hex drive allows installation where external spanner clearance is not available.

This selected size is specified with diameter M2.5, length 8 mm, thread M2.5, pitch 0.45 mm.

Sold in multiples of '200 pieces. 1 Box = '200 pieces.

Material, Grade & Strength

A2 stainless steel, commonly associated with 304 stainless, provides good general corrosion resistance for outdoor, clean industrial and food-related environments. Stainless threads can gall, so suitable anti-seize may be required.

Finish & Corrosion Protection

Corrosion resistance is provided by the stainless material itself rather than a plated coating.

Typical Uses

ISO 7380 button head screws are used on visible assemblies, equipment covers, guards, frames, furniture, panels and light machinery where a low-profile rounded head is preferred.

Technical Tips

  • Use the correct hex key or socket bit to avoid rounding the drive.
  • Button heads are lower than socket cap screws, so check suitability for high-load joints.
  • Use washers where surface protection or load spreading is needed.
  • Select stainless or coated finishes for exposed environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should a button head be used? Use it where appearance, low profile and internal hex drive access are more important than the higher head strength of a socket cap screw.
