Sprinkle some "cat-litter" sand. (Preferably new sand, to avoid adding to the problem) and leave overnight.

You can also try a mixture of 1 cup of borax, 2 cups of maizena (corn flour). Sprinkle on the carpet, leave for an hour then vacuum.
